Okay so there isn't an official dress code at work. They try to claim there is at the start of each school year but there isn't. They try to claim that we can't wear jeans except on certain Fridays. Not true.
I normally don't start wearing shorts at work until the last couple of days but yesterday I thought F-it and busted out the shorts and flip flops. What I wear doesn't affect what I know, how I teach, or the respect I get (or don't get) from students.
So it is game on now.
I've seen that many other people have done the same thing. There is no dress code so there really isn't anything administration can do unless we show up in filthy or inappropriate clothing. We aren't doing that. Our school has always been the renegade one.

At our school the dress code was pretty well anything goes, as long as you cannot see "down it, up it, or through it". Pretty liberal for Kansas. I remember when all female teachers were required to wear dresses, even if you had kids that required physical management. So glad those days are gone.

You can always get a t-shirt with a QR symbol on it that says “dress code.”

I suppose that is really helpful in the winter when it is really cold and you can layer up. Soooo when can you start pool time?

I'm sure that what ever you wear you will teach well and pupils will learn from you.
Now if you taught at the pool....

We had a no jeans rule.
I worked with a well endowed young teacher years ago and she wore the most inappropriate tops, and to make matters worse she was forever pulling at the top, so even if you hadn’t noticed her fleshy beings , you were soon aware of them ….. it was awkward when the Dads came to pick up the children. The situation was mentioned to her several times but she took no notice…..

Good idea not to have a dress code in school as long as it is political or obscene.
