I'm not even sure how to describe the storm we just had.

And it really isn't over with yet. Still lots of rumbling thunder and lightning, lights on lights off, internet on, internet off. Phones are working. I can't remember how long it's been that I have seen or heard wind as loud as that storm brought to us--like a bunch of freight trains! Trees down again, but they weren't all cleaned up from last night's storms. They said all day this could be a whopper, and they weren't kidding.
We were doing transfusion day...finally got out of there and made it home--the storm started maybe 5-10 minutes after we walked in the door. We made it safely home, and I am so, so thankful.
If you are west of Illinois tonight, watch out for these storms!! Seriously, they are no joke. Just be safe. We feel very blessed to be safe and our home is still OK.

I’m thankful you didn’t have to cancel son’s transfusion appointment because of the weather, and I’m also thankful you made it home before it hit. Those things are scary. I’ve ridden out storms in parking garages when I didn’t think I’d make it home in time, and I’m glad I did all three times.

That line is coming here today, but not sure how much wind will get out of it. I think there may only be a 30 percent chance of high winds, but time will tell. Stay safe there!

Those two rounds of storms, two nights in a row...honestly were horrific. It made son and I both nervous and rattled. We have been through a lot together the past two years, I thought weather couldn't shake us. But that last storm yesterday was such a whopper.

@MarieCoyle - At least we have no tornadoes and hurricanes here, at most bad thunderstorms and hail.

It does seem that you definitely get your share of hail there, Anna.

People here are getting a bit paranoid about storms, they kick up so fast and they have been so bad lately. Thank you, Anna.

Oh wow, that sounds really scary. When the wind starts sounding like freight trains and the lights keep flickering on and off, that is the kind of storm that gets your full attention in a hurry.

When a person is in need of a transfusion, it’s best to basically bust your tail to get there in a timely manner. If you don’t show up, someone else is waiting, too. I am so very thankful for everyone who donates blood for others!

Our weather people say we still are not done...supposedly tomorrow evening will be round #3! Not quite as intense, but who knows at this point. Thanks so much.
