Someone else will have to throw this out

I’ve been going through some plastic tubs and checking for more things to donate. I won’t be donating this but I’m also not allowed to throw it out. It’s a jumper from when we were part-owners of a machinery business called Ramac, short for Ravensthorpe Machinery. Ravensthorpe is a small, isolated town in the south-east of the state. It’s had a chequered life as mining is important, as well as farming, but the mines seem to open and close with monotonous regularity, throwing the inhabitants into turmoil each time. As you can see, the jumper is stained and has big holes but it will be up to our executors to throw it out.

When we die, the next person will be able to throw it out without it hurting.

We are too attached to some object to get rid of them. Keep it, it does not take a lot of place.

@JudyEv - I know that we threw many things from my Mom apartment that did mean nothing to us, but she would have never thrown herself.

You're quite right. The executor will be able to throw it out easily. It means nothing to anyone else.

That has sentimental value and it's something I wouldn't throw away too.

Just now
Some are full of memories that take us back in time. I have Tennis, Badminton, and Table Tennis racquets/ bats that I found it hard to discard though my wife managed to give them away.

For some reason, I think I've heard of Ravensthorpe before. Not sure where.

I wrote about it recently if that helps.

@JudyEv - Could be, but it seems long ago for some reason. Maybe I'm confusing it with something else. Knowing me, that's entirely possible.

Sometimes it is difficult to let go of tangible memories.

It has real, sentimental meaning. I don’t blame you for not throwing it out.

Some items you have are dear to you. I dread to think what will happen to all our stuff once we have gone but in the meantime we can enjoy our spoils.
