Minimum Wage

Tomorrow we head to the polls here in Oklahoma, and one of the things we are voting on is whether to raise the minimum wage. I’m all for raising it, but my problem with it is how far it goes. Raising it now, they want to double it by 2029. I think that’s going to significantly raise prices for people, and make it harder on everyone. I mean, please do raise it, but don’t double it that soon.
I’m not going to be upset if it passes, but I’m really surprised how they wrote it out.

I think it should go up in small increments..otherwise it will lead to lay offs and inflation.

In my country you just cannot live with the minimum wage. But everyone earns better than that. And prices rise anyway.

The minimum wage here is too low but the cost of living is getting higher and higher. So even if the minimum wage increases which really happens, people can't still survive on a minimum wage.

I feel that price control is more important than raising minimum wage. If the prices of goods and services can be kept low so that people can afford those things, there won't be need for raising the minimum wage. This all depends on the government though. If their is no price control, then they gotta give the people a living wage

When I first started care giving for Bob the case manager commented that "at least I got you a little more than minimum wage." But I am getting $15.50. I guess I do not know what minimum wage is in Kansas. Internet says we are at $7.25 as well. Maybe $15.00 is Federal. This is confusing.

They keep raising the Ohio minimum wage, but it hasn't helped with anything; it's still not a living wage. The problem is they raise it but fail to raise those who were making more than minimum, so now those who were making a higher wage are now making minimum. If they wouldn't allow everyone else to raise prices along with the minimum wage, it would be helpful, but the issue is that prices seem to rise along with the minimum wage. I'm not anti-fair wages; I think everyone should have a living wage. My issue is that it never seems to help when they do raise it.

Doubling it that fast does sound extreme
