It’s pension day today, state pension that is. Money appears in my account quietly just after midnight and just as quickly it will disappear to pay the mortgage, life insurance, phone, house insurance, internet, TV licence, Netflix and all the other etceteras. But congratulations are in order for one of our daughters had her bi-annual cardiac review today to check up on how her 25 year old heart repair is doing. It’s doing incredible well. And another daughter parturiated and in doing so has presented me with another grandchild. So me, the missus and the daughter with the lovely heart went out for dinner to an Indian place that often disappoints, but tonight it pleased me greatly. And so goodnight.

I too look forward to getting my state pension paid into my bank account. Fortunately I paid my mortgage off years ago, so get to keep more of it. Great to hear you have a lovely daughter with a lovely heart. Long may it continue!

@Ineeddentures Yes, I have passed state pension age, but not a long time ago! Maybe the way I wrote it confused you? I’m not looking forward to being a pensioner, it’s the next pension payment I’m looking forward to. Better?

I have never tried Indian food, but I would love the opportunity.

Love to see those checks come in, even if they do go right back out. They give you the privilege of being able to pay those bills. I keep telling myself that as well. I am glad to be able to pay the bills.

So much good news in a short time. Another grandchild! How many is that now? Do you know all their birthdays?

@JudyEv That’s number 7. I know the birthday of the first only, because she was born exactly 1 week after my big kidney stone escapade of 2006. I think everyone in Belfast knows where they were when I passed that stone.

@xFiacre I don't like the sound of the kidney stone. Our Irish son has to have an operation one day to remove a stone. They haven't been able to shatter it or whatever.
