Paul’s big day has passed. He’s on his way to 85 now!
Seriously, it’s great to still have some of our legends still living and healthy. I’m still celebrating, and here’s the next song on my list of favorite McCartney tunes throughout his career.
She’s My Baby (Wings)
Yes, it’s another song from Paul telling of his love for Linda. If you didn’t get the message from his very first solo song (“The Lovely Linda”), he kept reminding you.
Seriously, rock and roll is a wild way of life. How many rockers, or celebrities in general, do you know who’ve been married to the same person for a long time? (Quick side note: yesterday, in addition to being McCartney’s birthday, was the 49th wedding anniversary of Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads!!) So let him.
I’d say it’s no understatement that a tremendous amount of Paul died with Linda in 1998. His music of the 21st century has been more introspective. Part of that is being older, of course; however, a good deal of it can also be traced to being older without the love of your life getting older with you.
So celebrate love. His, yours, everyone’s. We need more love in the world.

Not all we read about celebs is true @FourWalls I recall articles back in the 80s about how cruel Paul was to Linda and how he abused her but no one really knows what goes on behind closed doors, not even paparrazi bozos

Chris and Tina, Paul and Linda, Lux Interior and Poison Ivy. Johnny and June. All long-term rock and roll marriages that lasted. And the only ones I can think of off the top of my head. Even Thurston Moore and Kim Gordon eventually divorced, and I thought that one would go on indefinitely.

Johnny and June don’t count with me. June was Johnny’s second wife, and Johnny was June’s third husband.

@FourWalls - Yeah, but they did at least make it stick once they both got it right.
I almost went with Bowie and Iman, but she's not in the music side of the business.

Did you ever taste her sausages
Yuck
Her choice of ingredients in the sausages were as bad as her choice in husbands ll

Ever noticed how that Wings logo is a pair of frog legs upside down?
Linda’s food items never sold over here…or, I should say, never sold anywhere near where I lived.

Because you’re you and it doesn’t strike your fancy. That’s about it.

I should have paid more attention to Wings' music. I don't know this one either.
