Hello everyone. I hope your day is off to a good start. It is 68 degrees F and clear here at the Jersey Shore. The high for today is just 80 and rain is expected. It is Monday but I don't have work. So of course I woke up at 4:30am. I didn't fight it and just got up. I can always nap later. I'd like to do it at the pool but not if it is raining. No big plans for the day. I am going to just relax and enjoy the first official day of summer vacation. I have some cleaning to do but nothing major. I also need to churn the Devil's Food chocolate ice cream base that my neighbor's daughter and I made yesterday. Another neighbor wants cookie dough ice cream so I will get going on that today too. What's everyone else up to today?

Today I thought I have a go at a job I’ve been putting off for years. Before I retired, I used to write lots of handwritten notes in pencil on A4 paper. This could be uni notes, work related problems and draft documents, or just general musings. This was before I started using word documents on computers. I must have hundreds of these sheets and I am undecided whether to shred them, just bin them, or use an eraser, rub all the pencil off and reuse the paper. What would you do? Especially in this heat!

I look forward to a nap today. Our electricity went off a couple times last night with winds as bad as an F1 tornado. Train cars were turned over and sirens were going off.

Hopefully you're able to get some rest later. I'm working from home today. Don't have too much planned. Just gonna get my work day done and spend some time with my family.

It's a good thing I am not your neighbor...that ice cream would be calling me over for a lot of visits! It all sounds delicious. It's only 70 degrees, humid and very overcast. Not the prettiest day out there.
