An Unexpected Win

If you didn't know already, I spent the past 3 nights and four days in Cape Girardeau, MO camping with my dad while my wife was away on her own little trip with her cousin, which is an annual gambling trip they do.
On Friday we decided to spend a little time running around Cape and last minute we poked our heads in Century Casino there to drop a few quick bucks into the machines.
I started with a $20 bill and played a couple of the slots, but they seemed rather tight even though I held my own.
Toward the end I think I had something like $14 left, which wasn't bad—we hadn't been there long at that point—and I sat down at one of the poker machines playing Jacks or Better.
That let me play quite a while and I was down to about 7 bucks and some change, and we were getting ready to head back to the campsite. I said, "Let me just run this $7 down and we'll go."
I got it up to around $14 because I hit a couple of good hands and said, "I'm just going to hit a couple more just for kicks and grins."
I was playing nickels, only betting 5, and I can't remember what it's called that I hit, (it's not a traditional poker hand) but it was worth 2000 nickels, which is of course $100. That made things worthwhile.
So, all said, I walked out up $94 up with $114. That was definitely an unexpected win. But of course, anytime I win anything in a casino...it's pretty much unexpected.

Congrats! Nice win! I love it when I’m almost at zero and I spin and win something. And in dollars rather than cents.

@porwest I loved it more when there were actual coins falling from the machine… Wonder why they did away with that?

Well, how cool is that? I hear the poker machines are very popular. I have no clue how to play poker.
