Lifeguard rescues a driver who drove his auto into a swimming pool

Mike D' Urso who is a lifeguard at a public swimming pool in New Canaan Connecticut was a witness when he saw a male driver crash when the driver accidently drove his Tesla auto through a fence and entered a swimming pool while the driver was inside his auto.
The swimming pool area was empty since it was in the morning when Mike jumped into the swimming pool in an attempt to rescue the driver was inside his auto when the New Canaan Police officers assisted Mike by breaking the auto window to get the male driver out of his auto and place the driver on a backboard and taken to safety.
An ambulance came to take the male driver to a local hospital to be taken care of for his injuries.
John Howe who is the director or parks and recreation in New Canaan that the swimming pool could be drained so that swimmers can swim in a safe pool.

Good thing that pool was empty and not filled with swimmers. I can only imagine how horrible that would have been. It's good that Mike was there and was able to get help for that driver.

That is a new way to do laps in a pool.
They will have to construct a sturdier fence around the pool, as if this is possible, somebody might be injured by such another similar event, when the pool is full of patrons. The lifeguard did well to rescue the driver.

You are right that the lifeguard did do the right thing by rescuing the man inside of the Tesla who was in the pool.

That is true since someone could have been hurt in the incident had the swimming pool had been occupied.
