Plumbers are expensive

There was an issue with the kitchen sink. When I would wash the dishes the water would accumulate and then it would drain but very slowly. My realtor called a guy that he uses to come take a look. The guy came over today. He ended up deep snaking the pipes I think. A lot of black/gray gunk came out onto the aluminum tray he asked me to give him. When he was done, he let hot water run down the drain for a bit. Said everything works fine now. It cost me $165, which seems like a lot, but maybe I’m wrong. I’m glad it wasn’t much higher though. Plumbers sure are expensive.

I am not sure if it’s a charge per hour or per job. My realtor said the guy is great at what he does and I didn’t want to deal with searching around for a plumber so used him. Maybe someone else would have been cheaper.

What are you pouring down the sink to cause the blockage? You need to stop or you’ll end up having to call out the plumber again incurring more expense.

@lovebuglena It must have built up over time then. Hopefully it’s a very long time before you have to call him again.

I’m not pouring anything bad down the sink. The plumber said this issue is common. I haven’t had to call the plumber in a very long time.

I think most tradespeople are expensive these days.

To me it seems like $165 is a lot.
