A little visitor

Found behind a lawn chair cushion

When Bob and I went outside this morning, I wanted to dust off the lawn chair cushion, so I lifted it up. This little toad was there, sitting just like this. When I touched him he jumped and used his suction cup feet to hang on the siding. I sure hope he has eaten tons of mosquitoes. We have had rain almost all day. In the last ten or so minutes we have had loud and close thunder. Now the sun is shining. Gotta love the weather. The frogs and toads do. As do the dragonflies and mosquitoes. I am glad to have a toad for my garden.

I have noticed that toads make an appearance on the grass when it rains a lot in my neighborhood.

Toads and frogs is happier when it rains. Actually I'm glad they exist because they are a great help in catching mosquitoes.

The roads in this are are brown.I haven't seen one for a good long time though. They may be snake food.

This one is not as brown as I usually see. Smoother, too.

I happen to love frogs. I used to see them when I was a kid…not so much now.

Could be, I guess. The splotches is what made me say "toad". When I have seen tree frogs before they had shiny and smooth skin.

I hope he is eating lots of mosquitoes too. Something needs to eat the wretched things.

Dragonflies are the apex predator for mosquitoes, and I get lots of those as well.

What a great little garden helper to find! Toads are some of the best natural pest control you can have around. If he’s made your lawn chair cushion his hiding spot, chances are he’s already helping himself to plenty of mosquitoes, beetles, and other bugs.
