There should be some rules before you go into the water. Do you agree?

It's a heatwave in my country and other European countries and yes, people feel desperate but, their minds should speak some rules to them. With lakes, adjust yourself and slowly go in, don't just jump into the water. Feel the ground and don't go too deep. Don't go into the water or swimming if you consumed the alcohol or you ate recently; give it some time, an hour then go but with alocohol, don't go at all. Rivers, same rules as with lakes. They seem like a little sea but they are not, there are tides there, whirlpools and same with lakes, don't go to far, don't feel adventerous and don't act a big shot. In 2 weeks, 3 people drowned here (ages 14, 28 and 76), in my country. I read in other European countries is even more and that makes me sad. Although anyone can drown, we should act more seriously. Police here asked for people to be more conscious and for parents to keep an eye on their children. I never liked bathing in rivers and lakes and i never did. I always felt strange around them and i listened to stories of people's drowning a lot.

It also helps to know the water where you are swimming how quickly it gets deep whether there are any strong currents etc. If you do get in a bad situation..do not panic..just go with the flow until you can get out of it.

I would have to agree, but some (sad to say) don't think & it's too late once something bad happens to them, & then people start talking about they should have done this that or the other.

People should use common sense before entering unknown water.

That's good advice you've given here. We were always made to wait an hour after eating before going swimming.
