My left eye is swollen again

Geez. My orange tabby cat Charlie is very sweet but he is also a monster in some ways. . . like peeing wherever he wants. He has certain favorite spots and I spend a couple of hours each week cleaning the carpet. It wasn't great when I wasn't here for 2 months but now the only thing you really can smell is the litter boxes if I don't stay on top of them. Anyway a couple of days after I got back here last month Charlie had peed by the stove in the kitchen. The tiles in both the kitchen and bathroom as insanely slick on a good day but when they are wet--forget it. I am always afraid I am going to slip and fall and that is exactly what happened when I inadvertently stepped into his mess. I crashed to the floor and hit the side of my face. My left eye swelled up and was black and blue after a couple of days. I think the students thought I had been in a fight. I iced it in the morning before work and then in the afternoon and just before bed. The discoloration went away soon enough but the swelling remained for a few weeks. It was better though then so I got out of the habit of icing it. Bad decision. It swelled back up last week after a coworker had told me that it was looking much better. I can see fine but my eyelid won't open all the way. Sleeping on my left side for 11 hours last night definitely didn't help the situation. So it is back to icing it. Hopefully the swelling will go back down again soon.

I think I would have to find him another home or keep him outside cause that could have been a lot worse than it was, animals inside is & can get dangerous & that's a fact as you just pointed out.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to take him in knowing his issue. I spent over $6000 saving his life back in 2020. I'm not about to drop him off a shelter to be euthanized. I live in an apartment complex on the 3rd floor. If I was still home I'd make my ex build him a "catio" outside house but I'm not so I am just doing the best I can.

@NJChicaa Well being that's the case, I wish you all the luck in getting him a cat house & keeping you safe from danger.

We take on the stinky chores because we love our pets. I wish there was a way to help him, and to make you fall proof.

Is there a cat whisperer like there is a dog whisperer? That sounds painful.

I am sure he is continually stressed due to Adso's bullying. Why don't you hire a cat behaviorist to work with the two of them? it is only fair to Charlie. I think it should take priority over expensive groceries. Would you like to live in a home where you were continually bullied? I would be surprised if he wasn't peeing all over the place. Does he have high places he can escape to? Sorry about your eye, I am sure that smarts.

It's a bit concerning that the eye has swollen up again.
