Sometimes I can be very wild when it comes to these countdowns. Sometimes I’m very predictable. Today’s song is definitely in one of those two categories.
Seriously, I think I’d get tarred and feathered if I left this one off. To me, there’s no way to leave this one off. Here’s one that many consider to be Sir Paul’s greatest song ever.
#3: Yesterday (Beatles)
And I will see you tomorrow.
Everyone knows that Paul started off with the music and put nonsense lyrics in it while he was working on it. So, originally, it was, “Scrambled eggs, oh yeah baby how I love your legs.”
Slightly different final product, wouldn’t you say? “Yesterday” is the most-covered Beatles song and the most-covered non-Christmas song in popular music.
And there’s a really good reason for that. I’ve never heard a version better than Paul singing it, though.

There’s no “of course” with you. Now, sleep well and go back to the pool tomorrow.

Yesterday absolutely has to be included. It's part of our music youth...and memories.

There are songs that are just too obvious. This is one of them.
