Heatwave

We are getting a heat wave this week. Temps in high 90s F. Some of the days it’s showing temps in triple digits. Definitely not looking forward to that. It’s usually hot upstairs when it’s hot outside. Have a feeling that sleeping there will not be good. I have nowhere else to sleep but the living room couch but I want to avoid that as it’s not as wide. I really hope I won’t have to resort to that. While staying home all day for many days in a row is probably going to get to me I think it’s best if I stay home; especially since to get to any kind of transportation I need to walk for at least 20 minutes.

I know how you feel since the heat outside is very dangerous during the daytime hours.

Oh, good lord! That's getting way too hot. Do you have a cellar or a basement? It's usually cooler. I hope you can get a place that is closer to transportation.

@lovebuglena ........It's probably cooler there. At least you have an option if it gets too hot upstairs.

@celticeagle I hope I will be able to sleep upstairs. I have a floor fan I can turn on upstairs but I don’t want to have it run all night.

I have a basement but there is no longer any furniture down there so I cannot sleep there or hang out there. I only go there when I need to do the laundry.

In Oklahoma, summers routinely go past the 100 F mark, the worst being in August. I loathe it, and get everything I need done before 11am. But, I have my own car, so that makes it far easier to keep that resolution.

@lovebuglena What makes it so much worse is the humidity. You know, when you step outside, and it feels like the air is so thick. It’s just so bad. It’s so bad that even if your electric bill is late and overdue, the power company won’t turn your power off in August. It would be inhumane to do so.

@AmbiePam High humidity is terrible. Besides it being very stuffy you sweat in places you didn’t even know you could sweat. Would they turn power off if a person missed one payment, regardless of time of the year it is?

Wow! How do people deal with triple digits on a regular basis?

Twenty minutes walking on a hot day isn't really a good idea.

I agree. Won’t do it unless I really have to.

The sun is constantly shining here..so I know what it feels like to experience heat. I just hope it doesn't get that bad
