Last day of June

It was quite a hectic morning here! My wife was getting ready for work today, but she was having a really difficult time booking a ride on a car-hailing app. Since it's usually easy to find a ride on a Tuesday, we were both puzzled. Eventually, she asked if I could drive her to the MRT station so she wouldn't be late. Once we hit the road, it all made sense—it was pouring rain, and the traffic was at a complete standstill. We later realized there was a massive protest rally happening on the highway, which explained why drivers were avoiding that route. I'm just glad I was able to get her there on time; it's a good reminder of how unpredictable traffic can be on rainy days!

Protests and bad weather must have really created a problem.

That’s true—if it had just been the rain, it might have still been manageable. But with rowdy people outside, the traffic came to a complete stop.

Yeah, that lightning rally made the traffic worse since they blocked half the roads on a major highway in the city. I think that made things even harder, which is why booking was difficult, as most people preferred to avoid going out.

Yes, if it is overly rainy, it snarls traffic for sure.

What was worse was that a sudden flash protest appeared out of nowhere, blocking the major roads.

There is always a traffic jam during rainy days and you cannot reach at time in the office and our bosses too understand it.

What made traffic worse yesterday was the lightning rally that suddenly took place. They didn’t get permission to hold their rally early in the morning, and they blocked the roads, making the jam even worse. While the rain could have caused bad traffic, it was the human factor that really made it terrible.

@rsa101 normally the people have to take permission from the government for the rally here. It's sad that they did it at your place without being in the notice of the people.

That does sound like a hectic start to the day! It’s funny how things that seem strange at first like not being able to book a ride usually make sense once you step outside and see what’s happening.

It’s true that the lightning rally blocked a major thoroughfare, making travel a bit annoying. Extra policemen were deployed in the area to keep things in order and get traffic flowing again. The rain only made it even worse.

We were held up by a protest last time we went to the city but it wasn't for long thankfully.

In my particular location, we rarely have issues with rain or protests tying up traffic, but I know other parts of the state have had issues with it, especially bigger cities. Our biggest issue with bad weather is people being stupid.

Traffic is unpredictable most days when you ride a motorcycle lol like I do Glad you got there on time though Why do the authorities allow protest rally's any where near a highway?

Traffic is always messy when it's pouring rain. You did the right thing by driving her to the MRT station

That’s true, and what’s worse is that there was a lightning rally on one of the major highways, making the traffic even more unbearable. The rain could have been manageable, but when people start protesting and blocking the streets, it turns what should have been a normal rainy day into a complete mess.
