Firefighters with the Phoenix Fire Department answered an emergency call on Sunday when a woman fell into a canal near 16th Street and Indian School Road.
Firefighter crews had to jump into the canal to carry the woman out of the canal since she did not grab the rope bags that were thrown at her by the firefighters.
The firefighters were able to carry her out of the canal safely. An ambulance came to take the woman to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries. She is currently in stable condition.
Do you believe that the woman fell into the canal by accident or she tried to end her life? You make the call.

I wonder. If she wasn't trying very hard to reach the rope, she may have been trying to end it all.

It is hard to rescue someone not cooperating with the rescuers, but she might have been distressed, and disorientated, so didn't respond to their call to grab the rope bags.
It was good she was rescued in the end, and is likely will recover.

She was most likely distressed.

How big is canal and how deep? That's the possible things to consider but it's not mentioned.

Who knows? I never associate Phoenix with canals. I didn't know they had any.

@Deepizzaguy I think it's pretty hot most of the year there.

Neither did I since I know that Phoenix has very hot weather in the summer.
