My Son's Kitten Thinks I Am His

My son picked up two new kittens four days ago. They took over my small blanket basket thinking it's a play toy. My son bought so many toys and things, but they tend to like household items. We had to do a lot of "baby proofing." Sadly, there are older cats that people don't want to adopt and they need fosters. Some have to receive medicine daily and others just special food. The Humane Society pays for all the food, litter and vet care for fosters. They can find fosters for dogs easily but not older cats. One is nine-years old and was taken in two weeks ago. He is super friendly and happy to see everyone. My Shelby, who passed away almost two years ago, was that way. Happily, they will have a home there forever if they don't get fosters or adopted. When I return from Oregon, I told my son I may see about fostering one. The Siamese named Solstice, has the brightest blue eyes, and he'll be three months the 4th of July. We call him Saul. The domestic that looks to have some coon or something else in him, will be four months the 8th. He is called Jude. They name them at the Humane Society, and since these names are already on file at the vet for being fixed, shots, microchipped etc., it would be a bit of a pain to change. I call Jude, Jude Theo-rroar. A play on Theodore.

Two very beautiful cats, and they have really found a great place to land, fostering with you.

What pretty cats. I could never foster an animal because every single one would be a foster fail. I’ll always give at least one animal a home though. As long as I’m living, I will always have a pet. I could live without one, but I do not want to. For me, pets are everything. And giving a shelter animal a home makes my heart happy.

I have a soft spot for animals. After I lost my Shelby (she was 15 1/2), I said no more. My health and income isn't fair for them. But these two spend a lot of time with me and becoming like mine too.

Those kitties are beautiful. Cats are like that, often they ignore their toys liking more household items.

Thank God for folks like you that adopt cats. Both of your rascals look healthy and ready to grab whatever they aren't supposed to. I love characters!

They already have grown so much. Theo has the largest paws. My son said he favors me, and he does. He seeks me out. Solstice "Sol" (I call him Sollie), is still tiny and favors my son.
