On the 4th of July there is going to be a lot of noise. Our pets have very sensitive ears. Some even more than others. The noise of fireworks going off can really scare them. Please be sure to have your pets safely inside. You might leave a television on to drone out the noise. If they do have to be outside please be sure they have identification tags incase they get lost.

I am worried about how some of the feral cats around here and my friend the opossum will survive.

I have Rufus's Vet prescribed cocktail of meds ready. I have tried drowning out noise. That doesn't do anything. I just bought a tub of liver snaps to try to distract him. One year I bought a pack of tasty chewy bones. That did nothing. This year we are going to sit in a dark alcove together and hope. The Vet cocktail at least keeps his heart from hammering so hard.

Just now
It's a good idea to have some noise inside to drown out the fireworks a little.

If it was up to me, I would ban fireworks.
I really would
I do not see the point of them at all.
And never have
Yes, keep the pets indoors with some music playing and give them a cuddle when all the senseless banging starts
