The Plot Thickens on Yesterday’s Strange Phone Call

It just got weirder
I decided to call my Internet provider to tell them about the call that I received yesterday to see if they had any record of it
I called them so I know I called the right number. I explained everything to the customer service rep. She said she understood why that seemed suspicious and that she escalated the issue to a supervisor and that they record all phone calls and can track all calls on my line and they were going to investigate it and call me back at 4 pm. It was 3pm at the time. We verified time zone and time.
Now it’s nearly 7 pm and nobody has called.
What in the hell is going on?

@porwest Whatever..there has to be an explanation..of course they could be "looking into it" and nothing will come of it. Besides we all know companies aren't always known for their wisdom.

@looeyville That call you got sounds like the kind a girl I used to know used to make. She was a bit weird. She would phone people randomly, ask the person what timer it was, say thanks then hang up. Sometimes she’d tell them their watch must be slow and argue about what time it was. I heard her call a car sales room and ask if they sold cars. They obviously said yes, then she asked if they had any red cars with built in toilets. She had a lot of spare time on her hands.

She made a promise but could not make them keep it. It is not important to higher ups, even though it is important to you.

Call again tomorrow....supervisors are usually few and far between in the evenings. INSIST on talking to the supervisor. Honestly, this is maddening. Tell them you are going to change your internet service if you don't get some answers. Anymore, that's the only thing that works--if someone is going to leave them. There are a lot of options out there. I switched a few weeks ago. Brought home a little box thing (no modem needed with T-Mobile) and we had the internet on in less than 5 minutes.

You probably won’t hear back until Monday. Their “customer service” keeps regular business hours, and today is the “holiday” since Independence Day is on Saturday this year.
If it’ll make you feel any better, they really don’t excel in customer service. I’ve begged them to stop sending me bills, continually re-signed up for paperless billing, and every month I still get a bill in the mail.

I can relate to what you are saying since sometimes I get emails messages to call a telephone number to give out information or else my computer will be shut off.
