The photo you see is our last Fourth of July picnic in Riga, Latvia, hosted by the US Embassy in Riga. One of the last happy times before his birthday on July 19 and the last year we were together, and you wonder why summer is painful for me and then throw in this tropical heat, and that puts the cherry on the cake.

His birthday was the day before mine. Today is the anniversary of my Dad's passing in 2009. You two look so great together. I have a feeling that you still carry a big part of him around in your heart.
