Rainy, Rainy Monday

Happy Monday Everyone! the temperatures have finally dropped after days of wicked thunderstorms, hurricane winds and torrential downpours.
We didn't need fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July. Mother Nature did her own light show with fierce lightening and booming thunder that shook the house.
Thankfully after days of these storms we didn't lose power but both my middle daughter and my son did. My middle daughter got her power back about a day later and had to endure the storms and heat without any a/c. I told them to come here but they couldn't leave the pets and I certainly couldn't deal with their dogs, cats and whatever else petwise they have. My prayers were answered when they got their power back.
My son got hit worse and the power company is saying they won't have power back until the 8th, Egads. They do have a generator so that helps. My son and family live in a very secluded wooded area and they said the winds had the trees practically bent in half.
A very large resort near them had trees down and many of them fell on cars in the parking lot. Imagine paying a fortune to spend time at a resort and then your car gets damaged or totaled.
Anyway, today we have more storms in the forecast but none of them are being forecasted as severe.
My weekend was pretty good even though our big 4th of July family barbecue was cancelled due to the weather. So, my daughter and I had our own little celebration, enjoyed our hot dogs, hamburgers, corn on the cob and watermelon throughout the day and binge watched Big Brother Australia.
Aside from the internet going out here and there it could have been worse.
How is the weather where you are? Were you hit by these major storms over the weekend or were you lucky to have sunshine and beautiful weather?

You know how bad it was here. The storms were just terrible, and I feel badly for people with no power, and no place to go. I know it just feels like it, and it’s not reality, but sometimes I feel like they work on the poorer neighborhoods last on purpose.

I don't necessarily disagree with you on your theory about how they work to restore power. Those storms hit us pretty hard here too and I just thank God my power didn't go out. I don't know what I would have done. Hope they get your power back so you can go home,

We had nasty storms over Saturday night. They shut down fireworks about 9 pm that night which didn't bother me at all. Then it rained Sunday night, too.
We just stayed inside away from all the smoke from the fireworks. And I didn't have an allergic reaction this year!

Guess we all lucked out that the weather knocked out many of the neighborhood fireworks. This is the first year that the day after wasn't a smoky atmosphere to deal with.
