How Do You Feel About the SAVE America Act?

This is an act that if passed would change how Americans vote. (It stands for Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act) It has passed the House of Representatives several times since 2024 and now is scheduled to be debated again. If this bill passes it would mean that a person would have to show either a passport or birth certificate when registering to vote. Only about 6% of voters currently register in person. In 2022 over 18 million registered or updated their registration either online, by mail, or at the DVM. All Americans would have to comply with this new rule if the bill is passed. One thing I found interesting is the fact that an estimated 69 million women do not have a birth certificate that matches their current name. Also, "federal data from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services shows that just 0.04% of voter verification cases flag as potential non-citizens, and even within this small group, many have already provided proof of citizenship when they registered." Do you see where I am going with this? What are your thoughts? My feeling on this is that women didn't even get the right to vote until 1920 and now they want to make it as tough as possible for them to do so. And will immigrants have to go through the entire procedure again? Why? Because some idiotic MAGAs want to have only white men vote? You can go to: voter.org/save-act/ for more information.

I have read a couple of studies that say it could cause more trouble for republicans. Many live in the very poor states like West Virginia and would have trouble getting their proof. Even men need to get it.

It is just Trump trying to control the electorate and the Republican yes men supporting it. It is a bunch of BS.

It's total stupidity, in my opinion. I'm glad it doesn't pass in the Senate... and hope it never passes.

I don't think so. It's a just a propaganda in disguise for act to safeguarding the sanctity of the votes cast by the Americans so as to gag thise immigrants. That's my opinion for I don't live in any state of America.
