My trip to Costco

It was fun, and I got some very good buys. Costco has raised prices quite a bit. Chilean Sea Bass was 58 something. I bet you could have it a restaurant for less than that. Anyway, One thing about Costco though is that although most of their items are high priced they do have some fantastic sale prices on certain things. I wandered the whole store and found most of them I think. I got 10 dollars off an Omega Triple supplement for one thing, and a six pack of iced coffees/protein drinks for 2.99 for example. However, the thing I noticed in there..which I wish I could say was shocking..was they had kid's Halloween costumes out...although they weren't calling them that..it was obvious what they were. Also, stuffed in a corner near the optical department they had ribbon..and some of it was Christmas! Crazy!

It is, but Costco like Sam's requires a membership and it isn't very cheap. Friend has both of us on his membership and for some insane reason he pays for the executive one which I think is about 70 bucks for the year. I know he runs things through his credit card and gets cash back that way..but he could do that on the business membership for less money. I am going to ask him why he is paying for executive when I see him.

Costco has a super meaty 5.00 rotisserie chicken..which is a great deal, but I already had some at home.

@snowy22315 - I bought two for $ 10 last week at Carrefour. One is in the freezer. Those were small rotisserie chickens, but perfect for me.

@LadyDuck Same excellent price. I never thought about freezing one, but the freezer is so full anyway, I don't think I could find a place for it.

We don't have Costco here but Sam's Club is similar. I also found bargains even though most of what I buy is bulk. It pays to same money buying bulk and it usually lasts a long time.
Meat & poultry are a good price so it's worth the time to divide it all into smaller portions and freeze.

Their meat is so high at Costco I truly couldn't imagine buying it now, unless they had some kind of super sale. I bought some dishwasher soap there about 6 months ago, and still have another large package of it..They was a great buy because it was marked down about 4 dollars when I bought it. I am one person here so unless it is something I really use a lot of or that lasts a long time I really can't buy in bulk. There are exceptions though.

@snowy22315 it really wouldn't make much sense for you to buy in bulk unless it's a bargain you can't pass up. There's 2 of us here so that makes our shopping a bit different but still have to be a savvy shopper these days to stretch that dollar

I never really believed in the subscription store model, but then again, I don't talk to many people who shop at places like that, so maybe I can be convinced.

I think if you utilize them alot you get your money's worth. You have to know prices though.

Costco has more than groceries. I love grocery shopping. I love to look to see what new products are out there.

Oh yes, I scour the departments. They moved the cleaning supplies though, and I couldn't find them.

Yeah, nothing I bought was really on my to buy list..but I just went with an open mind to get whatever looked interesting or useful.
