Sunday morning get back here!

I let the dogs out first thing then headed to take a shower. Last night I'd checked the front gate. The latch was down. The gate shut. I managed to catch Fred cat to give him his heart meds. Fed him and Peter. Yup. Headed back to the front door and NO dogs. Gate wide open. What!? And the bike riders were zipping by. Very bad combo when it comes to a loose Heeler dog. I drove around. Nope. No where. I decided to eat my breakfast. Not too long after I heard human noises out front. I went out and found a nice lady that lives kiddie corner down the block from us. She said our monsters were in her back yard playing with her dog. Thank God cause two blocks from us is a busy street. Rufus had had a dunk somewhere cause he was wet and very happy. You bet I shut the gate again. Hubby headed to his ride to church. Silly guy did NOT shut the front door after himself. Moxe refuses to mind hubby. Hubby is her pal who gives her treats not her boss. So yup. Hubby's ride person left the gate open behind him. Moxe scooted out behind hubby and out onto the street. Again. That had me screaming like a lunatic. Ride guy had also left his car door open so Moxe stopped to investigate then decided that the car was scary. She zipped back to the safety of the house. Thank God. Boy am I ready to take a nap or run away to the circus.

Glad you found them. My dogs don't think any cars are scary . The one gate I have into the dog run is wired shut for extra safety. I can see Patch border collie figuring out how to raise the latch

@wolfgirl569 Moxe is mostly husky but also has border collie and Heeler in her. We used to have a bunjie cord on that gate. We may be doing that again.

I can only imagine how I'd panic if that happened to me, I'm so glad you got them both back.

@rebelann thanks. I am glad that apparently Rufus did not hassle a bike rider.

Maybe you could get a spring for the gate so it closes itself. That might help a little. I've just read that you used a bungee rope. That would be good too.
