Today's trip to Fort Augustus

Today's trip to Fort Augustus Today's trip to Fort Augustus was a really good one Lovely weather, sun shining, warm Roads were quite quiet. So we had a good trip there. Went the scenic route there and returned by the even more scenic route. It's scenic all the way and scenic all the way back Fort Augustus itself is a lovely wee village half way between Inverness and Fort William , so lots of tourists on the go. And oh boy is Fort Augustus expensive We stopped for lunch, at the Monster Fish and Chips shop, on ikusly Nessie themed. And it's a tourist rip off £20 for two White pudding dippers which would cost about £12 at home. It was good though. We had fun I have some lovely photos to add which I will do if I get any replies

I'm glad you both are enjoying your trip. I have planned to visit a holy city in one of our northern states. From there we will visit another city at the foothills of the Himalayas.

Sounds like a nice time, and that stinks about the place being a tourist rip off. Enjoying the food though is always good.

@Ineeddentures Nice view again... and that is why those who charge the prices get away with it. But that is good

It's beside Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal and the tourists love it. They don't mind paying exorbitant prices for everything Courtney One of the best Fish and Chips shops in Scotland.

Ah well Today, the remnants of the fort are integrated into the landscape of Fort Augustus, which has become a popular tourist destination. The area is known for its scenic beauty and historical significance, attracting visitors interested in both the natural environment and Scottish history. I didn't actually see.any Fort any time I have been there But here is a picture of an island in a loch up in the hills above Fort Augustus

Glad you're enjoying your holiday. I always imagine Scotland to be lush and beautiful. I can certainly understand how much more expensive it is to indulge at a tourist destination. Prices are always way more but it's expected i guess.

Yvonne is a penny pincher Wandering round this store trying to avoid paying £2 for a coke. She found 4 small bottles of orange squash for £1.79 lol
