That is correct; using progressive glasses requires time to adjust. It took me several months to get used to it, and there are times when I feel a little confused, and my vision can be a little off, especially if I'm not wearing it properly aligned with my vision.

I guess it takes time for some to adjust to progressive lenses. I still prefer to have my prescription glasses and my reading glasses. I actually have 3 pairs - one for my nearsightedness, one for reading and writing, and another one for laptop work.

The only tip I could give you is to just wear it as often as you can and you will surely be able to adjust. I started wearing progressive glasses as early as 40 as per advised my eye specialist as I usually work in front of my computer for 12 hours. I also have astigmatism.

Wear the new glasses as much as you can. If your eyes start hurting, or you get a headache, then take them off and let your eyes and brain rest for a while. If they keep making your have headaches, contact your eye specialist again.
They shouldn't keep making you hurt.

I don't have progressives yet. I go to a new eye doctor next week so I don't know if I need them yet. I have heard that they take a while to adjust.

I am with progressive glasses for last few years. I have a reading glass power. But doctor suggested me to start with progressive as I spend time working on laptop. It took me few weeks to adjust. It was weird and uncomfortable to begin with. You too will adjust with time
