Deputies with the St. John The Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office (SJTBPSO) answered an emergency call when an auto was submerged in a canal near the Spencer Chauvin Memorial Bridge in Garyville Louisiana on Monday around 1 am local time.
The auto was on a highway when it fell into a canal when the SJTBPSO deputies arrived saw the submerged auto under a bridge.
Three deputies of the SJTBPSO jumped into the canal and used a tool to break the window to rescue the four individuals who were inside the auto.
The trapped passengers were taken to shore as they received medical attention on the scene.
Police officers from the Louisiana State Police are investigating the cause of the accident.

I would be scared too if I were inside an auto that was in a canal as well.

That was a great rescue, as it appears that the occupants were in a great deal of trouble there, and might have drowned in their submerged auto, if not rescued promptly.

Most likely driving at night they might have been distracted by the lack of lighting on the highway.
