I was just reminded, for some reason, of something that happened many years ago to my mom's friend.
She had been heading to the bathroom in the morning, rubbing her eyes, when she inadvertently ran into the doorframe with her elbow. Her finger went straight in and behind her eye socket and she almost pulled her eye right out. By some miracle it stayed intact. But she did have a very painful experience, bruised some things inside, and had to wear an eye patch for several weeks after the incident.
So, there you have it. My public service announcement of the day.
When walking around the house, don't rub your eyes lest you find yourself in a very painful, and frankly frightening predicament.

At work, we often cut the shrink wrap off of pallets, ball it up, and throw it at each other. A few weeks ago, as I came through a doorway, one of the girls on my team threw a shrink wrap ball at me, and hit me right between the eyes before I could react. I was wearing glasses, and she hit me so hard that it knocked the glasses back up against my face hard enough that somehow I scratched the cornea of my eye. I didn't file a workers comp claim because I didn't want her to get in trouble, but it was bad enough that I had to go to the doctor to get my eye looked at.
