So, the weekend after next I will be heading up to Pennsylvania for a birthday celebration for my Aunt by marriage. I haven't seen any of that crew since my uncle's funeral which I think was 8 years ago.. I don't remember for sure. I am looking forward to seeing my cousins on a happy as compared to a sad ocassion. I am surprised that so many people would attend but Mary is a popular person, and has a fairly large family as well.
In other news, it is my parent's 70th anniversary also in August. They gave their regrets for the party because my mom said neither of them are up to attending. I just told sis today as the idea popped into my head that we should pass a n Anniversary card for them around at the party and whoever wanted to sign it could. Sis was excited by the idea, but was a bit worried that we would be stealing the birthday thunder..but the whole thing would probably take 10 minutes no big deal. They wouldn't be mad anyway. It isn't even her real birthday just a celebration. Anyway, looking forward to the event, and I hope the weather cooperates. Sis said the smoke could also be an issue as the fires are supposed to burn until the fall apparently. I hope not on both counts! Any celebrations in your fam this summer, birthday or otherwise?

@wolfgirl569 You aren't going to buy him a present, or make something for him?

That's a really good idea to pass a card. I don't think the birthday celebrant would mind that much.

It'll give them something to do besides eat and chat or play lawn games Actually, it is at an amusement park in the picnic grove outside the park, but that is more for the kids .but I suspect A lot of people who haven't been there in years will walk around for nostalgia.
