What percent chance would you give yourself of living to 100?

I had to answer this question on a survey one day. I gave myself a 4 percent chance, but really there are so many variables with that. I think a 4 to 14 percent chance is more realistic. I do have relatives that have lived to be centenarians on both sides of the family. My parents are nearing 90 and 3 of my 4 grandparents lived into their 90's. 90 is not a hundred though. However, with better healthcare I guess it is possible..however, really not sure I would be able to afford to live to be 100 honestly. That is why I need to be on the hunt for a rich one!

That’s something that doesn’t happen over here. Certainly not at my docs. I would start fretting if I was told to not make any long-term plans.

@snowy22315 At 100, you can´t expect a wonderful health. I still have a decent brain at 81, but my feet are weak.

Most won't I rember when my son was a baby the doctor said his heartbeat is very strong. He will probably live to be 110. I was thinking later most people born when he is born have a decent chance of that.

@wolfgirl569 Yeah, you have to be in a good place mentally and physically to do that. My great aunt by marriage is 105 I think. She is religious. I think her idea is as long as God gives her another day she is happy to live it.

Good question ....
I'd say 50% chance of getting to 100.
I either will or I won't.
I think it depends on several things ....your health and hereditary healthy ...things that may run in families.
Quality of life
Family members that are left ...
No point living til you are 100 if you have no family or friends and are lonely or have ill health
Personally I would like to get to 100.
I have family and my health is ok ...so far ..

@Traceyjayne Longevity genes are only 20 percent of how you age. That is what I mean, there are so many variables.

There are too many factors to think about to work it out ....
Apart from ages and health of parents/grandparents there is also ....what if you catch something....what if you have an accident ...
You can be the healthiest person in the world then get knocked down by a bus .... statistics won't help you then !

Personally I am saying I have a 25% chance at least. All of my grandparents made it to 80 and above. My parents 80 and 88. I have never smoked and I keep active, so I feel I will outlast my parents. Bob used to plan to be 100, more recently he said 90. I doubt he will make 85 but that is older than his parents and most of his grandparents.

I hope you do. It seems you have a lot of stress in your life though and some medical issues, you have to factor that in.

I would say 0% chance. I’m not aware of any of my nearest and dearest reaching that grand old age. If I reach 80, I will be surprised. I don’t have a terminal illness (that I’m aware of), but have definitely noticed a decline in health over the last ten years.

My Grandmother lived to be almost 97 and her sister lived to be 105. I guess I would give myself a 6.

I would say that baring a terrible world war in the next few years, I would give myself a 50 percent chance of getting 100 years of age.

They eat a better diet there. They are in the "blue zone" for aging. I think more specifically Okinawa.
