It is Almost Perfume

The journey began 3 months ago today, which was on the 21st of April. I attended a session where we learned about the history of perfume, and how it came to be. Of course, most of us know that it is comprised of an alcohol base mixed with essential oils. When I was out west in Victoria, BC, we had a world renowned perfumer help us with the process of making a perfume. We added the base notes to a smaller container, that we could take home with us, as well as the heart notes and the high notes. Over the past three months, there has been a process to mix them. Today was the day, three months later, to add all of the essential oils, after they have rested for a month's time, into the bottle with alcohol. Now it rests together wrapped in tissue paper and stored in a dry and cool place. Then it will be perfume. I did notice that after resting for a month's time, the scents really came together and actually are no where as strong as they were prior to mixing them. I look forward to August 21st, when I can unwrap the bottle of perfume and give it a spray and try it. ~Photo is mine
