They didn't move far!

Almost three weeks ago I wrote a post about a pair of wood pigeons and their attempt to build a nest in the grapevine above our patio. After a couple of days of trying and the twigs just falling to the ground they seemed to stop and I thought they had decided to give up and try somewhere else. But no. They simply moved about three feet further long the same beam and have now made a nest and Mrs Woodpigeon is sitting there just above me. The nest doesn’t seem big enough even for her, never mind a potential couple of baby pigeons (Squabs is the proper name), and she’s only about 18 inches above my upstretched hand, but she doesn’t seem at all bothered by my presence. In fact our garden seems to be becoming something of a maternity area for wood pigeons as there’s another pigeon sitting on a nest in a dogwood tree not far away and another pair making a nest in the wisteria outside the bedroom window!
