My brother-in-law is getting a new puppy

We spent a night at Vince’s brother’s place. This is the older brother that lives in Bunbury. A few years ago, he and his wife lost a 50+ daughter in Luxor to cancer and they have both aged a lot. It was good to see them and we enjoyed our time there. About twelve months ago, they had to have their cocker spaniel put down but now they’re about to take possession of a cavoodle (cavalier spaniel/poodle) which I think will be a good thing for them, as they’ll need to walk it, etc. It will also be good company. The cocker spaniel was called Aprill, (with a double ‘l’ if you don’t mind) and the new puppy will be called Mae (May). I wonder if they’ll go on to have a June and July. The photo is mine but not of their puppy.

This puppy in the photo is so cute, I do not think this dog will grow very big.

@JudyEv My cousin had a cocker spaniel, they get dirt because their long fur. My neighbor has a Toy Poodle who is so cute and so sweet. I kept her little dog on my lap three days ago when she came go get me at the hospital, this dog is lovely. I am going to kidnap her.

It shouldn't be a big dog. The cocker spaniel wasn't very big really but was quite overweight.

I'm glad they're getting a new puppy. Dogs are great as emotional support company for both of them.

Is that the same kind of dog in the photo? Because that's a cute puppy!

It's the same cross, yes. It's a very popular cross here. Some crosses produce better character traits than some others.

I’m so glad they are getting another dog. It’s good for people to take in a dog and show him or her how much they are loved. They’ll get all kinds of benefits.

The puppy will be a lot of work, but should help them smile again. Puppies can be great fun. I am seriously considering getting a new kitten, but we have to get Nico a bit more under control. People online were complaining their older cat was biting the new kitten..and that would be Nico. He isn't a mean cat, but he is fearful, and he doesn't like to be messed with. Besides being jealous of the new kitten, his territorital instincts would kick in, and he would probably not like playing that much.

@JudyEv The naming of a dog can be problematic. I’m sure I must have shared before that acquaintances of mine named their new puppies Haemorrhoid and Syphilis. They thought this to be cute till they took the puppies to the park, let them off the lead then had to call them.

My friend called their pet lambs Steak and Chops. I found it hard to laugh at that.
