How quiet do they need it to be?

So, I had a strange experience earlier. I was taking a survey and this was some sort of audio thing..It was eventually going to evolve to recording phrases. Anyway, I passed the Audio and microphone check and then they wanted to check for background noise. I had the window open the first time I tried it and off in the distance you could hear a bird squawk and I guess a vehicle might have passed by but I am not near the road. I failed it, so I shut the window and recorded again. There was no noise in here at all other than the refrigerator which was barely noticeable. Failed...Brother! I can't sit in a tomb. There were a couple of rooms you probably couldn't hear it all, but I never thought I would fail. That's crazy.

I find that some of those serveys tend to have delays when it picks up recorded content. It's possible, that if you were asked to speak aloud, the Ai simply couldn't understand you. I speak with a suthern acent, and sometimes voice-to-text misunderstands what I'm saying, because of how I talk.

No, the recording of my voice was fine. It was the "background noise" they were supposedly picking up.

Just now
@snowy22315 You said it yourself, the key word being 'supposedly'. While I'll agree a phone's microphone can be hella sensitive, I'm able to use voice to text and record for surveys with my t.v. going and George shaking his hand and scraching his pepsi cup. And, they go through. So I know for sure it's not background noise that was picking up. Even though it's the failure it gave you.

That does seem odd that the microphone is just so picky.

Could you tell me survey sites which actually pay? I have faced multiple issues in getting selected for the survey

Artificial intelligence is known to hallucinate, although this term is applied to other situations. I just wonder if the algorithm heard stuff that wasn't even there.

Hm, I guess it was a strong filter to pick up miniscule background noise
