Sandcastles and Sisters

Today our son and his wife and the twins spent the day at the beach. The weather is a bit warmer, not hot by any stretch of the imagination, but nicer than it has been. The sun was shining and the breeze wasn't as strong as it had been. Just a nice day to play outside, or build a sandcastle together with your best friend, Sissy. That is what Harper and Willow spent part of the afternoon doing. Harper just loves to play in the sand, so the beach, with its limitless amounts of sand, is superior to their little sandbox at home. When did you last build a sandcastle? ~Photo is mine

I can see the size difference you were talking about in that picture.

There is quite a height and size difference. We can barely get the zipper done up in Willow's swimsuit because her shoulders are wider and they are the same size. She will soon be in a size 6X I believe.

@Juliaacv They are doing well. I remember my dad zipping my coat up when I was 6 or 7, I think he just worried about us out in the cold weather. I am sure I could have zipped it. I could tie my shoes.

Yes, they are growing up, they start Jr. Kindergarten in September already. They can unpack their own lunch pails take out the food, set it up and eat it and repack the container back into the lunch pail. They can do up their own zippers, buttons and snaps on their coats, open and close their own umbrellas, and take their shoes off and keep them together rand put them back on again. I hope that come boot weather they are just as good at that. The teachers cannot help the students with any of that.

@snowy22315 The girls can tie shoes, but they only have buckle shoes, crocs or velcros.

My last sandcastle I built was around 2008 while on vacation in Florida with my relatives.

Oh, you have to find a beach on one of your trips, plunk yourself down, and just play in the sand and build yourself a little castle.

I made sandcastles with the girls when we took them to the beach last month. It was fun.

Those are cute kids. I used to build sandcastles as a kid... feeling nostalgic now

Thanks, they have grown up so much lately. I built sandcastles with the twins last month, just at the edge of the beach, and waves came in and took it all away every so often. It was fun.

The last time I was at a beach was last year I think but nos sandcastle. The water was too enticing not to jump into it. So we all did spend our time swimming rather than playing in the sand. The twins look lovely.

That is a beautiful photo. I never did, we always lived on a base fairly far from any beaches.

I laughed when I saw this picture that I just received because they look so happy just playing at the water's edge in the sand.

Just now
I see that Harper is still smaller than Willow, but they are both happy and smiling in the sand. Last time I did a sandcastle? Ages ago.

What gorgeous little girls. There is certainly a height difference. It's been a long time since I built a sandcastle.
