About to have lunch

. It’s about2:51 p.m. here in Nigeria, and I'm getting ready to have lunch, beans and potatoes. I wanted to share a quick update. My stepdad is still in the hospital. I spoke with my younger sister, who stayed with him last night, and she said he's doing better. They did morning prayers with him, and even though his speech is still slurred, he said Amen, which is encouraging. Every little improvement means a lot right now. I also called my younger brother, and he confirmed that he's making progress. We're hopeful that in the coming days he'll continue to regain his strength, be able to walk again, and eventually be discharged. One thing that saddens me is that, as of today, his biological sons still haven't called to check on him. It's been five days. Life has a way of reminding us how important it is to be there for the people we love while we still can. Thank you to everyone who has kept him in your thoughts and prayers. Your kindness and support mean a lot to my family. I am at at work today and hope to visit him tomorrow to check on his progress. I'll keep you posted. I hope you're all doing well wherever you are.
