How come all plugs that go into your lap top are not the same. Each company has a different type of plug and will will not fit in any other brand of computer. So if your plug quits working you have a hard time buying another one. Get this even with water bottles a different brand cap will not fit on your water bottle. That seems to me to be just wrong. Is it just me or have you ever wondered why lids and plugs are not all the same.

To you and me that's all wrong but to manufaturers it's a means to make more money

Sometimes its all about the branding, and some has something to do with the weight of the laptop charger which add up to the marketing hype, there are laptop charger that you can easily plug without using any adapter, or charger that is not heavy. That's all I know.

I am sure they think it makes sense but it would be better for everything to be universal.

We bought another brand of water bottles and the cap from the other brand did not fit. I just though that was strange.

All plugs should fit into everything. That is my thinking.

The reason they're not the same is to make you buy separate plugs, lids, etc for each device. It's how they make more money.

You’re definitely not alone! It’s honestly so frustrating how every device and bottle seems to have its own unique plug or cap. It would make life so much easier if things were standardized, but instead, we end up with a drawer full of random chargers and mismatched bottle caps. It’s one of those everyday annoyances that just doesn’t make sense.
