Four emus went for a swim

Have you seen the footage and report of four emus which were photographed swimming across the Murchison River in Western Australia’s north? You can read about the birds and see the footage here: Kangaroos are also strong swimmers. I wonder if the Loch Ness monster is maybe an errant emu. The photo is mine. Emus can't fly and only have vestiges of wings. You can see the wing hanging down in this photo. Also, a single feather shaft has two feathers attached. One egg is equal to about a dozen hen eggs. When our emu laid eggs, we'd blow out the contents and make a sponge cake in a baking dish.

I’ve seen photos of emu eggs. They’re quite large, and quite colorful (blue-greenish?). And YES, swimming like that, they DO look like the Loch Ness Monster!!!

I never thought that emus can swim, birds usually do not swim, unless they are aquatic birds, like swans or geese.

That's really fascinating. Emus are wonderful creatures and I didn't know they swim . I have never seen one here in Nigeria. I guess they are native to Australia
