I wear glasses for things like reading and writing , but for every day stuff I don’t need them.
I was posting so I was wearing my glasses, then I went upstairs to get the laundry stuff so that I could put a wash on …..I took my glasses off as I don’t need to wear them going up and down stairs ….
I picked up the washing basket, put my glasses on top of the dirty clothes and came downstairs.
The Misters washing was already in the laundry room, rolled in a bundle as he does it …
I picked up the bundle , placed it on top of the washing already in the basket, shook it slightly and placed it all in the washing machine. I then put all the washing from the basket in to the washing machine …..
It was only when I went to put my glasses on to continue posting that I realised what I had done …..
Yes,
I had put my glasses in the washing machine……
Too late, …… it had started , no chance of stopping it …..
Got to wait now til the washing is done to find out the fate of said glasses …..
And to think …..I called The Mister a Twit yesturday ….. !
What a silly thing to have done !……what do you think ?

I would say all you had to do was open the washing machine. It stops when you open the door. Then dig around until you found your glasses. It doesn't hurt anything to stop the wash in progress.
Thankfully, I only need my glasses if I'm driving somewhere, so I leave mine in the car.

@Traceyjayne Is your washing machine front loading? You know you can force those to empty quickly without jostling, right? Most people I know use top loading machines in case we need to add or remove something to/from a load in progress.

I would say just keep them on. Not worth something like that happening again. They could be OK..you never know.

Put them on your head then. You will just have to remember they are there.

@MarieCoyle that’s true … and I was worried that they would be broken and the bits would break the washing machine ….

@Traceyjayne
I'm very glad, glasses are so expensive to replace.
