Oh my days, I have just seen the very sad news that Dolly Parton has died.
She was one of my favourite singers and I thought a most inspirational person.
Coming from a very poor background, which she drew on for many of her songs, she became one of the most famous and well loved people in show business.
Singing, acting, composing, Dollywood and providing millions of books to children around the world….she was so talented and caring.
The world has lost a real Gem xxx

Her older brother Coy preceded her by a couple days. I wonder if the service will be a joint one.

@Traceyjayne I’m sorry I misread that, it was July 23, not August. I thought this was another Eunice and Ted Kennedy kind of thing.

She was something. Her song, “Coat of Many Colors”….I just played it in my iPhone and cried. I hope people will listen to that for years to come.
And although 9 to 5 was such an iconic movie with an awesome song, there is a little known movie she did called “A Smokey Mountain Christmas”. I watched that every Christmas until I could no longer find it.
Just so sad.
