Wednesday Ramblngs

Happy Wednesday Everyone! it's a beautiful sunny day here in my little corner of the myLot world. I actually enjoyed my coffee outside this morning and it's been awhile since I've had the pleasure. The temperatures are comfortable so it's definitely a nice reprieve from all the heat and humidity. However, storms predicted for tomorrow and then there's talk of another heat wave coming. I'm ready to say good-bye to August and hope that September brings some nice cooler weather.
I'll be going out in about an hour. My oldest daughter is coming by to pick me up and we're going to run a few quick errands and then stop by our local salon to say good-bye to our favorite hairdresser. Her name is Laurah and she's moving to North Carolina. It was a teary moment when she told us her plans a few months ago. Now we're here and she'll be leaving this weekend. Really going to miss her as she's been our hairdresser for the past 15 years or so. The salon is having a sort of open house all day today for customers to drop in and say good-bye. I don't' know who's going to miss her more...the salon or us customers. Laurah is just one of those people who is like human sunshine. It's really going to be weird going there to someone new. I hate change!!
Other than that, the rest of the day is just "go with the flow". My youngest daughter has meetings all afternoon so she isn't able to join us on our trip to say good-bye to Laurah but she did her farewell last weekend when she got her "last" Laurah haircut.
Dinner tonight is lasagna compliments off my son in law. He made a big pan and sent a huge portion here for us to enjoy. I'm really looking forward to it as it's a heat and eat dinner but I know ahead of time it's going to be delicious.

I had a particularly busy and rough afternoon at work, I am relieved that it is over.
I never say that.
I have to go outside and breathe in some fresh air and take a nice walk.
I have a no cook supper tonight too, just deli meats and cheeses and pickles and stuff. We love that meal.
I hope that you can continue to keep in touch with your hairdresser, they really are so important to us.

@Marilynda1225 A neighbour about my age was out walking her little puppy, and stopped to chat, I was trying to get going, when another neighbour came by, walking her little pup, and I thought that I could slip away easily, but they both talked my ear off for a few minutes longer. It did allow me to let go of that stress.

Sorry you had a rough afternoon at work and that you were able to get out for some fresh air. When my daughter has days like that she finds a walk clears her head too.
I love no cook dinners and like you deli meats, cheese, pickles, etc do make for a nice meal.
Hopefully we'll be able to keep in touch with our hairdresser at least through Facebook,

Some hairdressers are special. Lets hope Laurah loves NC. I am going to Walmart a bit later for an oil change and to do a bit of shopping while there

I hope Laurah like NC as much as she thinks she will. Part of me is hoping she doesn't and moves back here

@Marilynda1225 Yeah. I've seen a lot of people come and go over the years. I don't do hair dressing or pay for it, but at the same time, I've been to stores, hotels, and worked in food service. It's rare if anyone lasts.

I'm sure we'll find another hairdresser in the same salon that will do just as good a job. But, it's hard to say good-bye especially since we've been going to her for so many years.

Wednesday wasn't as busy as expected but it was good. I have been feeling good this week. It's Thursday morning here and I have 4 minutes left before I leave for work. It's going to be very busy at work. My brother won't be there to help so that's one person down.

@Marilynda1225 No stress at all. It's 1pm here now and I'm home for an online meeting scheduled at 1:30. Everything went smoothly at work this morning. It was busy but it was good.

It’s always such an adjustment to adapt to a new hairdresser, but when you like them for more than just their skills, it’s doubly hard. She sounds like such an incredible person! I know it must make her feel so good to see so many people come wish her well, and I’m glad to hear the salon set aside a time for people to come say goodbye.
My plans for Wednesday got changed, but that’s okay. I’m a little tired myself.

It's rare to find a hairdresser that not only does a really good job but stays at the same salon for so many years. When she started her kids were the same age as my little grandkids and now they're all grown and in college.
