Tordelli alla lucchese is what I ate this evening in a trattoria on the Borgo Stretto in Pisa. Similar to ravioli, tordelli is stuffed with beef or pork, Swiss chard, pine nuts, raisins, bread, spices, and grated cheese.
In Lucca, the tordelli are semi-circular in shape (mine were square this evening), and once prepared, they are combined with a rich and hearty meat sauce made with onions, carrots, celery, beef, pork, garlic, pancetta, sage, cinnamon, nutmeg, red wine, tomatoes, and olive oil.
I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and had panna cotta alla fragola for afters.

It does sound delicious, but I'm not a fan of either raisins or pine nuts

@traceyjayne it surely was. I really don’t want to leave this place the food is exquisite. Forget the leaning tower (we stumbled across it this afternoon accidentally) and just eat.

@ineeddentures Very wibbley wobbly. It was so good I could have used it as face cream once I could eat no more.
