I certainly missed my Mom's roast dinner today .... We went out for lunch and we both had Hunters Chicken . Why do nearly all pubs / restaurants have the same things on the menu. I'm not really a picky eater but ....crikey ...where is the imagination and cookery skills.... Anyway, what we had was nice ... What have you had to eat today ?

I had a delicious piece of breakfast pizza this morning with my dad, and then I had a peanut butter and jam sandwich for lunch. That breakfast pizza was too good for words.

I guess they just go by what is popular. The good ones really stand out because they have something new and different.

Most places check to see what people prefer to eat when they're looking to open new restaurants by checking everything considered "local" and if a few items are found in almost every place, then that must be a good seller so they make that. You definitely sound like a picky eater. You could just take Mom everywhere with you so you don't miss out on her delicious cooking. I bet, if you told Mom I said that, she's say I was being a smartass again.

@DaddyEvil. These are chains and whilst I agree they know what are good sellers, it would be nice to have a few different choices ....who knows they might become a best seller, given the chance.... I'm honestly not a picky eater but a bit of variety would be nice. We do take Mom out with us when we are at home, but we are at the caravan now and she doesn't want to come here now, not since losing Dad ...too many memories ! My Mom doesn't use words like smartass ...

@Traceyjayne Even chain restaurants check to see what sells in the areas they're moving into. Whatever was a best seller for other restaurants is what they serve, too. You MIGHT be able to change that by sending them a letter or message asking them to serve something else to see if it sell well in your area. If enough people from your area ask, then they might decide to try it and see. Uh huh... whatever you say. I'm sorry. I didn't realize the trailer used to be your Dad's, too. One of you called me something that means smartass. I just can't remember which one of you.

@DaddyEvil I doubt a chain would listen to little old me . Maybe worth a try .. Dad and I bought the caravan between us ... We had one before this one. It was in Sidmouth and it was next to the donkey sanctuary. The caravan park had its own private pathway to the donkeys ...it was lovely ....it was just too far from home and we moved with a new caravan to Weston Super Mare where we are now

Here, it's chicken parmigiana that's on every pub menu.
