Disappointing pesto.

It was such a disappointment today to be served a meal that was not freshly cooked. The gnocchi were obviously bought frozen and the pesto was out of a jar - how hard could it be for a restaurant to serve freshly made pesto? It’s not that complicated. The day was redeemed however by our evening meal of ravioli stuffed with ricotta and spinach and in a deeply, flavourful tomato sauce. We spent the afternoon in Pisa’s botanical gardens, one of the world’s oldest. It’s not huge but it interesting, many plants grown for their medicinal properties. It was good to be able to sit in the shade of the trees for a while. Would a city’s botanical gardens interest you if you were there on holiday? Maybe you are more interested in the bright lights?, but for me it’s parks, walks and restaurants.

Pretty and I always go to greenhouses and city parks when we get a chance. We've been to the Kansas City Botanical Garden and the St Louis Botanical Garden when we were in those cities in Missouri. I love spending the day walking and enjoying the plants and flowers. I talked with one of the gardeners while we were in St Louis, telling him I LOVED the green and purple oxalis that was used as an edging along several borders. He pulled some up and gave me the corms. I still have them growing in a pot in my kitchen.

Our botanical gardens were a frequent school field trip. It was way too humid for me to enjoy it. I love when I get a fresh pesto!

Just now
No sauce tastes as bad as a pesto out of a jar and frozen gnocchi are rubbery. I am sorry for your bad experience. I always enjoyed visiting botanical parks where I could find one when visiting a city.

Now your dinner sounds really delicious, I hope you enjoyed the botanical gardens. Nope, I love botanical gardens. If you like pizza I found this online about wood fired pizzas which I have eaten and they are awesome, Found this for you in Pisa Pizzeria Da Michele — Famous for its wood-fired pizzas, this spot is popular among both locals and tourists.
