Emotional support for a kitten

I donate to Animal Care Egypt (ACE) from time to time. Our niece was married in Luxor in 1998 and we visited the veterinary hospital while we were there. People were very poor and the animals were in terrible condition, all skin and bones. The economy hasn’t improved very much even now and people and animals have a hard time. Animal owners have little knowledge on how to care for horses, donkeys and/or pets.
ACE was founded by an English woman and is totally run by donations. No-one is turned away and treatment is free. While treating animals, the vets give advice and educate owners as much as they can. I check the Facebook site each day and today a young boy brought in a kitten for treatment. What made me smile was that the kitten’s father was brought in too in a cat carrier – as emotional support. It made me go awww!

It’s obvious that animals bond together just like humans do. I’ve mentioned my neighborhood cat that I call “Flat Foot” because she crawls under my gate instead of jumping over it. She’s always with her calico buddy. I don’t know if they’re siblings or not, but they’re always together at my house: one jumping over the gate, and one crawling under.
It’s wonderful that people care for the animals affected by bad economies.

I love that the father cat gave the kitten “support”. It makes sense to me. I’ve brought a person with me a time or two at the doctor for support. I could have gone without them, but hey, everyone, even a kitten, needs emotional support every now and then.

Some people are so kind. However, some cats are not very nice to their offspring and may even eat them. One of the cats sis has was attacked by her father who mutilated her ears. They don't look that bad, but you can tell they were bitten.Luckily, she gets along with her brother who lives with her.

That sounds like a really good cause that you donate to. I would have smiled seeing that Facebook post about the emotional support cat day at the vet.

That's a good cause. My neighbor would like that. He works for the Denver Animal Shelter. He's a big animal guy.

that is very good for the cats. in my country we have the similar issues. some people have shelter for strayed cats. but that is not enough because there are more strayed cats
