Wednesday Morning Coffee Chat

Happy Wednesday Everyone! it's a rainy day here today with morning showers but thunderstorms later this afternoon. Just another dreary day and I feel like we've had more rain than sun these past few months.
I'm so annoyed by Amazon because I was expecting a package today. When I went to check to see approximately what time it was coming it now says Sept 9th. That's a whole week away. What happened to Prime and 2 day shipping? So, instead of 2 days my package is now taking 9 days to arrive. If I had known I wouldn't have ordered it.
That's my gripe for today 
Otherwise everything else is okay. No big plans for today just the usual things to do around the house and deciding what to make for dinner.
I'm working my way through a book that I'm not sure I'm enjoying. Sounds crazy right. But as many times as I've put it down and decided to read something else this book drags me back in and I wonder where it's going. So, I'll give it a few more chapters this afternoon and see. The book is Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. I got it because people were raving about it.

Once I start reading a book I am usually compelled to follow it through the end. I hate it when the book is not thrilling me, but I just keep plugging along.

While you have an issue with Amazon, I too am pretty anxious with my incoming parcel. It was supposed to arrive in the country the 20th of august and it was supposed to be received by me on the 29th. But it's already the 3rd of September here and tracking said, I should wait 3-5 days more.
I am very impatient.

I wonder what's going on with delayed shipping. It surprises me even more that it's not just here but you are dealing with the same issue there

@Marilynda1225 - I suspect it's because of goods that come from China. Longer delays at the Customs. I got everything I ordered except a small package and I think that the phone cover comes from China.

That's one reason why I don't feel paying for prime is worth it. It isn't hard to get to 35 dollars for free shipping

@Marilynda1225 And mine seems to be on time from my recent order. I was just notified it shipped today and should be here tomorrow. It only needs to come from Columbus so not far

My daughter and I share an account so we do get our moneys worth for Prime. But, lately delivery seems to be held up for whatever reason.

I did recently read an article that Amazon has more customers than ever before, and they are struggling with shipping logistics as many delivery people are either behind or do not have enough employees. But who knows? I do think it would be nice if they could give people a more accurate delivery date.
Please send the rain here...we had a ton a few weeks ago but now everything is baked and dry and it's HOT. I hope you have a great day, Marilyn!

Wish I could send you some rain. Seems like your area is either too much or not enough.
Guess Amazon has its issues and from what you said it does sound realistic that they are caught between having too many customers and delivery being held up for different reasons

I know Amazon here is really scratching for drivers. I have seen deliveries for Amazon come in regular cars, in pick up trucks, in U-Hauls, etc. in my neighborhood, as well as your basic Amazon truck. It's crazy.
No, daughter said she can't find the Cheap A$$ coffee, either. I liked it a lot, it was really good.

It's going..running the dishwasher now. I am reading one that is pretty good..although rather far fetched. Books that are too out there,,,have you thinking yeah right, that could happen on every other page..

Amazon used to pride themselves with free shipping and two day delivery. At least the free delivery is still an option but the time frame not so much

I am always disappointment whenever a delivery is delayed.
We had a hot and humid week, everyday getting worse than the day before.
Last night alot of bad storms moved through our area.
There was a very small (1000 residences) that lost hydro due to the high winds and lightening.
But this morning, at 5:30, it was already terribly muggy outside, so I doubt we will feel any relief from those storms.
Our son has to take his truck in for repairs today, so I am playing uber driver today. I will take him across town to a golf course and pick him back up again, and of course to and from the garage, for the drop off and pick up. But, time spent together, even if it is in traffic, is still time spent together.

@Marilynda1225 I agree plus I got a nice big hug from him afterwards when I dropped him off. I think I will surprise him and leave here to pick him back up before he texts me so he isn’t waiting around.

We had on and off thunderstorms overnight which woke me up numerous times. Today we're expecting more showers and possibly thunderstorms again. This heat and humidity seems worse when it rains. i'mn really hoping my coffee works it's magic this morning.
Playing uber for your son does give you some quality time to spend together. You have him all to yourself

It's annoying but it is what it is...these days between Amazon and the Post office nothing seems to arrive on time.

i hope you'll receive your package finally tomorrow. i hear you and feel you about the book; in my case, it was series and i thought no, i'm not in the mood but when i watched another series after this one, i realised the first series was so much better and i got back to it. have a good day!
