The Best Thing I've Learned in Life

I've had a lot of mishaps, sadness, and bad times in my life. I've lost boyfriends in car accidents, I've had kid issues, and I've married some real a$$ holes. Not always made the best decisions. I've learned about what I feel is the real God. I have had issue with mental health and have a diagnosis of major depression with panic attacks. But, the one thing that really kept me from going over the edge was, and is, HUMOR. If you can't look life right in the face and find something about it to make you laugh then you might as well stop the train and get off. As Reader's Digest says "laughter is the best medicine. "

Filipinos, they say, are resilient. We have been through tough times. Corrupt government officials, stricken regularly by calamities, etc. But you would see us tuning our worse situation into a joke and would laugh about ti.
One time, a South Korean man asked me why do filipinos laugh when they're so poor. He saw a man with tattered shirt, laughing and joking with friends.
That's in our nature. We don't let problems trouble us to the point of depression.

I agree that humor can be a powerful coping mechanism. We can't always control what happens in life, but being able to laugh, even during difficult times, can help us keep moving forward.

You are one strong lady honestly, most people won't be able to go through half of what you have been through. And you are right life will hit you hard without a care, but how you view life often plays a major role.
