Today Julie Andrews is 90 years old and has had a long career in showbiz. She is most popularly known for such movies as “Mary Poppins” and “The Sound of Music." Last night I watched the DVD of one of her lesser-known movies from 1970, which I highly recommend. In this movie taking place during WWI, Julie Andrews portrays an English singer who is also a secret German spy. There is a lot of music to enjoy, comedy, drama, wartime, and romance. Lili falls for American Major Larrabee, portrayed by Rock Hudson. It is a film that is a delight to watch and comes the way I love it with a happy ending at the end of the war. She's lead a good long life. I enjoyed her acting in both Mary Poppins as well as in The Sound of Music.
