A clever new semi-scam. Have you experienced this?

I still use AOL as my email service. I am lazy and do not like change. The cost is zero, but I have to deal with a lot of ads. Recently, AOL has come up with a new "semi-scam," which I will try to describe. I see an email in my email folder. It looks like another bogus email. I delete it and all of the other "miracle bra," "It will stay hard for 72 hours" and "Brain Eating Bacteria Cruise Line wants to give you a price discount on our next cruise to Ghana" emails I click the hazy delete square beside "Cruise" video, but it turns out it's not a hazy square. It's a hazy something else that takes me to the ad. I try to escape from the ad but cannot. Ultimately, I have to go two or three steps back and get to my emails. Have you experienced a semi-scam like this?

Just now
@TheHorse I just looked at my spam a while ago, and I saw two with almost the same strategy, introducing themselves and asking for help to get their inheritance

No, but it makes me glad I left AOL in the dust decades ago.

I haven't gotten this one. If I get any I try to unsubscribe or block them. I hope you are able to find a way past these. I've had a Yahoo account for decades. Then a Gmail one more recently. I do recall AOL and had it for several years. If it does the trick why not?
